The Imo state House of Assembly has banned all kind of protest in the state. This is as a result of varied protest led by members of the People’s Democratic Party over the Supreme court judgement nullifying the election of state governor Emeka Ihedioha.
The court also ruled that the APC’s (All Progressive Congress) Hope Uzodinma be instated as governor of the state.
In a plenary session on Feb 13, the House banned all forms of protest as they believe they are becoming injurious to the welfare of the state’s residents. Read more: ‘I Will Deal With Those Inciting Protests In Imo’ – Governor Uzodinma
The Imo state House of Assembly is becoming an APC-led assembly with members from other parties defecting to APC.
A vote of confidence was also passed on Governor Hope Uzondinma and the Supreme Court.
