40 illegal immigrants have been rescued by the Libya coast guards at the Mediterranean sea.
On Saturday, 21st July, about 40 immigrants which included 16 Nigerians and 24 other migrants, were rescued by the Sabratha vessel of Tripoli coast guard. The migrants were reported to have been Europe bound before their rescue.
According to the Libyan Navy Information Office, the rescue operation took place towards the north side of the city of Zuwara. The office also mentioned that the migrants were found on board a rubber boat, and among them were 8 women, 31 men, and a child. Also included was the report that that the migrants were of different nationalities, including Egypt, Syria, and Morocco.
