“I’ll Be Lighter, Faster And More Powerful” – Andy Ruiz Warns Anthony Joshua Ahead of Rematch

Andy Ruiz has warned Anthony Joshua that he will be “lighter, faster and more powerful” for his heavyweight rematch.

American Ruiz provided a massive shock when he dropped Joshua four times before the fight at Madison Square Gardens in June was stopped in the seventh round.

The victory handed 30-year-old Ruiz the IBO, WBA, IBF and WBO world titles and inflicted a first professional defeat on Joshua. The pair will take each other on again in Saudi Arabia on December 7, with Brit Joshua aiming to win his belts back. But Ruiz has told his rival to expect another hard fight and that he is in an even better shape than he was last time.

“I will arrive in better condition…. lighter, faster and more powerful,” Ruiz said. “They will believe that in December they will win. People will always talk like this, but I have faith that we’re going to win and shut up more mouths. I have a lot of respect for Anthony, outside the ring he is a very good man. But inside [the ring] there are no friends, there is no respect or anything. It will not be an easy fight. I think it will be a hard fight, but nothing is easy in life, so we are training very hard. We will be prepared for whatever he brings.”
