Iheanacho Scores Brace Against Man Utd, Fires The Foxes Into The FA Cup Semis

It was a well-deserved victory for the Foxes at the King Power Stadium, as they advance to face Southampton in the Semi-finals of the competition. Leicester city started the game more vibrant and positive grabbing the first goal through Kelechi Iheanacho after some good high pressing work for Man Utd midfielder Fred to lay back a poor back pass that fell kindly for Iheanacho to round the Jordan Henderson in united’s goal put the ball in the back of the net.

Though United did equalizer before the break, through young forward Mason Greenwood with a crisp finish after some decent play from Paul Pogba and a smart decoy by Donny Van De Beek.

But that wasn’t enough to save United from its first domestic away defeat in 24-games. As Youri Tielemans found the bottom corner from a swift 1-2 play with Iheanacho and a running into the box blasting a grass-cutter short into the bottom corner.

Barely 5-mins after that Jamie Vardy blasted wide one-on-one with the goalie. But it was his Nigerian striking partner that was to guarantee the Foxes advancement in the FA Cup tie, with him scoring his 9th goal in the last 9 matches in the 78th minutes heading home at the back post from a Castagne free-kick.

Solskjaer’s fire brigade 4 man substitution proved useless, as he threw on Bruno Fernandes, Cavani, Luke Shaw, and Scott McTominay with 27 mins from time to salvage the game, he later threw on the Ivorian winger Amad Diallo later on all proved abortive too little too late.
