The Nigerian Police Force Inspector General IGP Mohammed Adamu has ordered discreet investigation of the dehumanisation of a female UI graduate, Towobola.
In a viral video which surfaced on social media on Wednesday and has been condemned by many Nigerians, Towobola was said to have been arrested alongside some suspected kidnappers and hoodlums.
As seen in the 5:59minutes video, she was first laid on the ground and when asked to stand up, she was asked several unrelated and sexually harassing questions, including who disvirgined her, why she left her ex to be with a hoodlum and many more.

The interrogator who later showed his face towards the end of the video, in a bid to get her to spill some necessary information also accused her of being promiscuous, which is why her ex broke up with her. He then went ahead to ask if she would say not to him if he wooed her since he doesn’t have money and cars.
Reacting in a series of tweets, the Nigerian Police Force described the scenario as a dehumanizing treatment, which is also condemned by the IGP.

The Force then assured the members of the public that that any of its member found culpable in the incident will be made to face appropriate sanctions.
