Mojeed described their call as lacking substantial essence noting that he isn’t a believer in zoning and that a region of the country can’t consciously stay away from national politics and all of a sudden emerge from the wilderness and start demanding for the number political position in the country and expecting other parts of the country to hand it over to them on a platter of gold. Your Take on Igbo Presidency?

My take on the Igbo Presidency is that no region in this country can play politics on its own, achieve the presidential position without relating with the other regions and zones of the country. Especially knowing fully your region only controls 25% of the voting power and population of the country.

And as one who doesn’t believe in zoning, because if power is zoned to a region of the country some people in that region will ask that it be zone to their state if it is zoned to the state, some people in that state will say it should be zoned to their local government and all of this will only water down the quality of leadership in the long run.

So what you’re saying is that the call for Igbo Presidency doesn’t hold water?

Yes, it doesn’t.
