If You Think Being Nigerian Means You Can’t Succeed, You Will Not – Macron

Emmanuel Macron believes Nigerian youths can overcome prejudices by rebuilding the culture.

French President, Emmanuel Macron said this on Tuesday, July 4, while at the inauguration of Alliance Francaise – a French language and cultural – headquarters in Ikoyi, Lagos. He explained: “60% of the Nigerian population is under 25 years old. It is 60% of the population who, like me, did not experience colonization. We are the new generation. We will overcome prejudices by rebuilding the culture.” Alliance Française has 10 associations throughout Nigeria, located in Enugu, Ibadan, Ilorin, Jos, Kano, Kaduna, Lagos, Maiduguri, Owerri and Port Harcourt.

Macron is currently on a two-day visit to Nigeria, and we can tell you that the French President has had busy-but-fulfilled moments since he arrived in the country on Monday afternoon.

“If you believe in your projects, just do it right now,” Macron noted in his message to young African entrepreneurs, adding that Africa today is a land of entrepreneurs who create a future for their continent. “Helping Africa to succeed is good for Europe and France,” Macron adds on migration. “Steve Jobs’ father was a Syrian refugee. It would seem that nationality has nothing to do with the ability to succeed. If you think that being a Nigerian means you cannot succeed then you will not. If you fight and you will succeed you will be a role model!”
