If Nigeria Ends Bitcoin, I’ll End My Citizenship – Tech Investor

A Nigerian investor has threatened to end his citizenship if the Federal Government continues with its closure of bitcoin and other crypto-accounts and the ban on crypto-trading.
Recall that the CBN has said cryptocurrencies in Nigeria is illegal, and had asked both banks, financial and non-financial institutions to put a stop to the trading.
Taking to his 11k-followers Instagram page to react, InvestorSeed wrote, “The new CBN policy is yet another Nigeria govt attempt to distort a new economic landscape that emerging entrepreneurs are building for themselves. For the past 4 years I have been committed to blockchain research and development, investing heavily on a crypto project. Being at the verge of the development, we were already conducting final testing and scheduled to launch end of February and then boom! 9ja govt attempting to ruin another great stuff. We can all agree that peer to peer platforms would make it difficult for the policy to affect individual users of crypto in Nigeria but damn!”

“The crypto businesses and startups which are in their hundreds are going to bleed. They are already. This Govt is so terrible at making policies without considering or consulting stakeholders in the industry. Mehn!!! A whole crypto! One of the greatest technologies of our lifetime. If the whole world bans crypto it shouldn’t be Nigeria. Like damn! the underlying technology is driving a new economic ecosystem and providing new opportunities for old and emerging African entrepreneurs to thrive in a big way. Is this govt anti-progress? What is the ratio of Bitcoin good:bad in Nigeria?. For a technology that I have committed so much to, If Nigeria ends Bitcoin I would end my citizenship here for another Country that would let me thrive and live my dream. We move!!! #StayAhead #bitcoin”, he added.
