Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), in Osun State election of July 16th, 2022, Goke Omigbodun, has come out to show support for Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the February 25 general election, Peter Obi over the alleged leaked audio conversation with General Overseer of Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo.
Information making the rounds on various social media platform heard Peter Obi telling Oyedepo in the leaked audio that “it is a religious war”.
In a radio current affairs programme on Monday in Osogbo, Omigbodun said that if Obi said what was leaked in the audio, he was just being truthful.
”I have not accepted that he said it, but if truly he said so, he was just being truthful,” he said.
The gubernatorial candidate insisted that it was the All Progressives Congress (APC) that first started bringing religious sentiment into politics.
“If truly Peter Obi said so, I am part of the people that will back him up that he can say so.
“Because it was All Progressives Congress, APC, that first started it.
“Some parts of APC members that gathered people together telling them not to vote for ‘Kafiri’. Who are these ‘Kafiri’ they were refering to?”
