The Inspector General of the Nigerian Police Force (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, seem to be heading for deep waters as the President just found out that the IGP was not residing in Benue as the President ordered him to.
President Buhari publicly admitted on Monday, that he was not aware that the IGP ignored his order to relocate to the state shortly after the herdsmen vs farmers bloodshed began.
He disclosed this at a meeting with stakeholders in the state capital, Makurdi. Buhari said: “But I did not know that the IG did not stay in the state. I am getting to know this at this meeting. I am quite surprised,”
President Buhari ordered the Inspector General of Police to relocate to Benue state shortly after the communal clash between herdsmen and locals started. The clash has claimed the lives of over 100 people so far.
