Anthony Joshua to Uysk – I Was Fighting Two Battles

Former heavy weight champion, Anthony Joshua has taken to social media to tender an heartfelt apology to the reigning champion Oleksanr Uysk following his rant on stage, immediately after losing their rematch at the Jeddah stadium in Saudi-Arabia.

The Briton was in a no hold barred state immediately after the fight, with many online pundit believing that that was the end of the road for Nigerian-British fighter, popularly called AJ.

In a massive turnaround, AJ took to his Twitter handle to apologies to his Ukrainian counterpart. He relayed his battle with mental health and wish the world champion all the best in his title defenses.

He said:

I wish @usykaa continued success in your quest for greatness. You are a class act champ. Yesterday I had to mentally take myself into a dark place to compete for the championship belts! I had two fights, one with Usyk and one with my emotions and both got the better of me

He went on to accept his fault in the whole fiasco and promises to do better going forward

I’ll be the first to admit, I let my self down. I acted out of pure passion and emotion and when not controlled it ain’t great. I love this sport so so much and I’ll be better from this point on. Respect

Anthony Joshua will have to fight his way back to the top if he is ready to be champion once again, meaning he will face top contenders like Chisora and White and might even have to fight Denotay Wilder.
