Superstar Afrobeat singer, Davido Adeleke opens up on how he got himself an endorsement deal worth millions of naira as a teenager with one of the biggest telecommunications networks in Nigeria.
The singer made this known during a recent interview where he stated that the telecommunication company, MTN was new in Nigeria at the time.
According to Davido, he was 17 at the time and had done about two hit songs which put him in the target market for the brand.
The singer who recently released his fourth studio album revealed that MTN offered him an endorsement worth N20M at the time.
The return from the deal helped him write more songs and fueled the release of his first album.

The artiste also stated why his dad took so much interest in him, when his mum passed away.
In a recent interview with REAL 92.3 FM Davido said he feels his dad made a promise to his mum to take care of him.
The singer added that he believes the over-protection is out of fear.

“I come from a family where there is oh ‘go to school and after you go work for dad’. I am from a Christian, business family. My dad didn’t know I was doing music till like two years after I started recording. He sees it and he was like ‘How sad’?” he said
