I Want The War In Ukraine To End ‘As Soon As Possible’ – Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said he wants the war in Ukraine to end “as soon as possible”.

He made the comment on the sidelines of a summit in Uzbekistan, during talks with Indian prime minister Narendra Modi.

“I know that today’s era is not an era of war, and I have spoken to you on the phone about this,” Mr Modi told the Russian leader, adding that now was not the time for conflict with concerns around food, fertiliser and fuel security.

Mr Putin said he understood the Indian PM’s concerns about the Ukraine conflict.

“I know about your position on the conflict in Ukraine, and I know about your concerns. We want all of this to end as soon as possible,” he said.
