Jodie Turner-Smith has been with husband Joshua Jackson for nearly three years – but it turns out it started as a one-night stand.
The Queen & Slim actress has revealed she and the Dawson’s Creek star are in a ‘three-year one-night stand’, as she detailed how she met her husband on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

Jodie, 34, explained: ‘When I first met my husband, it was kind of – we had a one-night stand. We’re in a two, three-year one-night stand now.’
The star was born in the UK to Jamaican parents but moved to the US as a child, and grew up watching Dawson’s Creek, saying: ‘Let’s be real, who wasn’t team Pacey? No offence to Dawson, but it was all about Pacey.’
Fast forward to 2018, and Nightflyers star Jodie is attending the same Hollywood parties as Joshua – and it was the Cruel Intentions star who showed his hand first.

Jodie said: ‘First of all, I saw him before he saw me, and when I saw him, I was like, “I want that”. And then when he saw me, I just pretended like I didn’t see him. He had to yell across the room to me, and I was wearing this T-shirt from a movie called Sorry to Bother You and Tessa Thompson plays a character called Detroit, and she has this T-shirt that says, “The Future is Female Ejaculation.”
‘And so, he shouts across the room, ‘Detroit!’ He comes over and does this really cute, charming thing that he does and just all night – he just basically followed me around the party.’
Joshua’s tactics worked and they went public with their relationship in October 2018, before getting married in December 2019.
The couple have since welcomed a daughter, who is now one.
While the pair have kept their romance relatively low-key, even choosing not to reveal their daughter’s name, Joshua has shared some emotional tributes to his wife on social media, most recently on her birthday back in September.
The 42-year-old wrote: ‘Happy Birthday my beautiful wife. Thank you for choosing to share your light with me. Thank you for walking this path of life as my wife. Thank you for bringing our daughter into the world.
‘This last year has been the happiest whirlwind of my life. I can’t wait to see what all the years to come bring our way.’
