Brown Ideye intends to stay in Europe despite Malaga’s relegation from the top Spanish League.

The Super Eagles striker joined Malaga on loan from Chinese club Tianjin TEDA on a contract that’s expected to expire this summer.
“I will like to finish my contract there before moving to another club permanently. I know Teda what me back but I don’t want to go back to China,” Ideye told AOI Football. “I prefer to stay in Europe. My agent and I will push for another loan deal, but this time, a better club but that will be after the World Cup.”
Malaga confirmed their relegation from La Liga after suffering a 1-0 defeat against Levante last Thursday. Ideye is expected to make a return to China, but the Nigerian soccer star is hopeful to join a top European club on another loan deal as he prepares for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

“I just want to focus on doing well on the pitch and playing my way back into the national team,” adds Ideye – who has previously played for Olympiacos, West Bromwich Albion and Dynamo Kyiv. Photo Credit: Getty
