The 54-year-old said on Ellen DeGeneres’ webseries Parent Confessions: ‘Making sure I made time. Early on, I’m trying to make it and everything like that, and I would show up, take my daughter to Disneyland.

‘I thought Disneyland would fix everything. “Mickey Mouse is gonna fix it!” I come to find out it didn’t work in a very uncomfortable session with a therapist…my daughter’s like, “I don’t need Disneyland, dad. I just need you.”

‘That’s the thing, time is priceless.’

Jamie has two daughters – Annalise, who he shares with Kristin Grannis, and Corinne, who he shares with Connie Kline.

The star is open about his personal life, recently speaking out about how he intends to never get married.

Jamie, who was in a relationship with Katie Holmes for six years, explained that the ‘traditional’, ‘cookie cutter’ lifestyle with the ‘2.5 children, the wood paneling on the station wagon and the cottage, I didn’t think that was for me’.

Jamie also believes his relationship with his children is stronger because he was never married to their mothers.

‘I don’t know what that is, I just know that it is different but it’s a whole lot of love,’ he said.

But when a marriage comes to an end, he says, ‘the kids get fractures from their families’.

As for his daughters, they’re in no rush to see their father get married, Jamie said: ‘They just love their daddy and I just keep moving.’
