According to the source, the late cleric had asked most of his aides to work from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Also confirming the death of the televangelist, Lagos police commissioner, Hakeem Odumosu, said he learnt that Joshua was conducting service and along the line, he felt uncomfortable. He walked to his apartment himself and never came back, PM News reports.
Odomuso said: “The service started in the evening. But it was around 3am that he was pronounced dead by a hospital.”
News of Joshua’s death filtered in on Saturday, but it was not till Sunday the church confirmed it.
In a Facebook post by TB Joshua Ministries, it was disclosed that his last words to his members were “watch and pray”.
Many are speculating that the TB. Joshua forsaw his death because of a message he shared on Facebook on the 3rd of June, telling his followers that he would not be able to celebrate his 58th birthday due to happenings around the world.
Now he died six days to his 58th birthday and people can’t help but wonder.
The cleric, however, told his followers to dedicate the day to prayer and fasting and to not also forget the needy.
