Former professional basketball player, Dwayne Wade has publicly shared his love for his actress wife, Gabrielle Union as he revealed he cannot wait to marry her again. Dwayne shared this in a hilarious speech he gave last night after he bagged the Best Moment Award at the 2019 ESPY Awards in Los Angeles. Dwyane who snagged the prestigious award alongside Lindsey Vonn and Rob Gronkowski, after the three retired from their respective sports, shared that he felt obliged to make that promise. The former Miami Heat star added that he was motivated by Drew Brees’s speech and felt he had to do his.
He said: “Before I start my speech, I want to say thank you to Drew Brees because of what you said to your wife onstage, my wife looked at me with a death stare…” The camera was then panned to Gabrielle’s direction who nodded in agreement and mouthed “it’s true.” Continuing his speech Wade said:Â “…And said if I don’t say something up here the car ride home is gonna be long. With that being said, darling you are amazing. You look incredible in this dress. I cannot wait ’til five years from now until I get the chance to marry you again. It’s gonna be a little lower budget than the first one, but it’s all good.”
Done with showering Gabrielle with accolades, Wade spoke about his basketball legacy and how it gave him the opportunity to help others. Sharing the video of the event, Gabrielle took to her Instagram page as she captioned the moment which she shared with her fans with: “Thanks to @drewbrees, the ride home for @dwyanewadewon’t be a long one after all.”
