One of the Dapchi girls abducted by Boko Haram a few weeks ago is making news due to her refusal to renounce her Christian faith. The girl’s father has spoken on just how happy he is that his daughter despite being faced with death refused to renounce her Christian faith. The girl, who had a terrorist holding onto her while they tried to force her to renounce her faith, blatantly refused. The girls whose name has been given as Liya Sharibu according to her father Nata Sharibu, is yet to be released due to her refusal to become a Muslim.  Reports have it that Liya was not released alongside the other girls who were released yesterday March 21st. Her friends who spoke with her father said that Liya’s refusal to convert to Islam made the terrorists hold on to her. In an interview with the Cable, Nata said; ”All of them were released. They said some were dead there and my daughter is alive but they cannot release her because she is a Christian. They gave her the option of converting in order to be released but she said she will never become a Muslim… I am very sad but I am also jubilating too because my daughter did not denounce Christ.”  Photo Credit: Getty</
