I Am Nazzy – Chinonso Arubayi’s Ambitious Debut Production Hit Cinemas 1st Of April

Nollywood has ushered in a new era, with movies spreading awareness about mental health while delivering the romance and lighthearted comedy that we all enjoy. At the forefront of this movement is the upcoming movie, I am Nazzy.

On Sunday, March 27th KOKO TV, was at the premiere of the upcoming movie “I Am Nazzy”. At the event covering for KOKO TV was Jane Aimuengheuwa as she covered the red carpet of the movie premiere and spoke with some of the celebrities and actors that graced the event.

The movie is about a Fast-rising music artiste’s picture-perfect life suddenly goes haywire when she accidentally switches places with a doppelganger. All attempts to prove her identity are futile and she is subjected to a whole new life without the glitz and glamour. Will she lose herself or embark on a journey of self-discovery?

I am Nazzy is a film about life, dreams, and hope. Lady a fast-rising music- artiste’s picture-perfect life suddenly goes haywire when she accidentally switches places with a doppelganger. Some of the Nollywood stars in the movie, include the Chinonso Arubayi, Jidekene Achufusi, Jimmy Odukoya, Denrele Edun, IK Ogbonna, Ada Jesus, Jay Rammal and Chioma Nwosu. I am Nazzy will be out in cinemas from Friday 1st April.

The romantic comedy touches on important mental health issues like anxiety and depression, and how they can affect the lives of those we deem as ‘successful’. The movie also advocates seeking therapy as we will see the main character unpack some of her struggles with a therapist in the movie. Gracing the beautifully decorated red carpet were actors, media personalities, and influencers such as Bolanle Ninalowo, Stan and Blessing Nze, Elozonam, Denrele Edun, Nons Miraj, Tomi Odunsi, Simi Drey, and more.

It is the debut movie production for leading actress Chinonso Arubayi and directed by director extraordinaire Kayode Peters
