Hyundai, KIA To Establish Assembly Plants In Ghana

South Korean multinational automotive manufacturers both headquartered in Seoul, Hyundai and KIA are set to establish their assembly parts in the Federal Republic of Ghana.
This is coming a few days after Germany announced it is situating its West African Centre for Global Health in the country and Twitter, its African headquarters.Hyundai, KIA To Establish Assembly Plants In Ghana
The nation’s Minister of Minister of Trade & Industry Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, announced this via his official Twitter handle, revealing that the establishment will be joining those of Toyota-Suzuki, Nissan, Kantanka, Volkswagen & Sinotruck.

“Pleased to announce that Hyundai & KIA are set to establish assembly plants in Ghana by the end of 2022 to join Toyota-Suzuki, Nissan, Kantanka, Volkswagen & Sinotruck. The Ghana Auto Development programme = 3,600 assembly & 6,600 manufacturing parts jobs in Ghana”, he tweeted.

 

Hyundai, KIA To Establish Assembly Plants In GhanaMeanwhile, Minister Kyerematen had announced this to the German Corporation and other diplomats from the German Embassy at a meeting to sign a 540,000 euros grant for the establishment of an auto desk at the ministry and development of some selected industrial parks in the country.

“By the end of 2022, the Ghana Automotive Development Programme will lead to the establishment of four assembly plants; there will be some leading global auto manufacturing companies including Toyota-Suzuki, Nissan, Kia and Hyundai in addition to the current vehicle assembly operations of Kantanka Automobile Limited, Volkswagen and Sinotruck” he disclosed.Photos Credit: Getty
