Hutu Militants Attack Village In DR Congo. Seven People Dead


The Democratic Forces For The Liberation Of Rwanda (FDLR) attacked Bwiza village in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) today killing five civilians, one police man and one member of the DR Congo National Intelligence Agency.

The DR Congo Army Spokesman (Guillaume Ndjike Kaiko) confirmed the attack saying “The FDLR attacked a police station in Bwiza Village. They killed a soldier and several civillians before the Army intervened”. Jean Lukoo a representative of the regional governor also confirmed the attack. He said “The attackers made off with a herd of stolen cattle”.
The FDLR have continuously attacked the Congo region since the Second Congo war in 1998.
