One of the top trends of the moment is Woodberry, one of the accomplices who was arrested alongside Hushpuppi as reports of his health hit the social media space.
Olalekan Jacob Ponle, popularly known as Woodberry, Hushpuppi and 10 others were arrested by the Dubai Police in an operation tagged Fox Hunt 2Â after 4 months of trailing and tracking their every move and activities. The gang were said to be planning a $435million cyber fraud on a global scale, before they were busted, according to Brigadier Jamal Salem Al Jallaf, Director of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Dubai Police, and more than Dhs150 million ($40.9 million) in cash, 13 luxury cars with an estimated value of Dhs25 million ($6.8 million) obtained from fraud crimes, a confiscated 21 computer devices, 47 smartphones, 15 memory sticks, five hard disks containing 119,580 fraud files as well as addresses of 1,926,400 victims were seized from them on arrest. Giving an update on them, controversial journalist Kemi Olunloyo noted that the embattled suspected fraudsters have spent 9 days in prison and Olalekan is seriously ill. “Hushpuppi and Woodberry have spent 9 days in Moshannon federal prison. Sadly Woodberry has fallen ill and being treated. They did not expect this. Criminal Fraudsters $450M“, she wrote.
