The streets of Twitter is currently buzzing with Governor Seyi Makinde’s name on the top trends as Nigerian youths praise him for the increase in his State’s Internally Generated Revenue IGR by 26.4% in the first half of the year.
Not only are Nigerians amazed that this could be achieved after the world was crumbled in the 2020 economic year as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, but they salute the fact that the State never increased people’s tax and yet, made this feat, unlike some other States allegedly imposing taxes on loaves of bread and other items.
Revealing how this happened, Governor Seyi Makinde’s media team reported that the Governor said his administration was able to achieve this simply by focusing on the State’s competitive advantage.
