Harmattan season is here and for the next 2 to 3 months, the drop in temperature, dry and dusty winds brings with it dry and chapped lips, dry scalp and dry skin in general. It’s important during this season to be aware and intentional about taking care of our skin and also know how to protect your skin during harmattan.
This routine should help protect and alleviate what can often be the harsh by-product of harmattan on our skin.
Ensure to drink enough water. Drinking water is a must in this dry season, if you want to have your skin popping irrespective. At least a liter and a half day. Natural products that don’t dry out the skin are best. Opt for products high in natural oils and butters such as Shea butter, coconut oils, calendula etc.

Fruits high in water content will help hydrate the skin from inside. Eat fruits like Watermelon, Apples, Oranges and Veggies like Tomatoes, Cucumber, and Carrots. Also ensure you are getting enough Vitamin C, you might also consider taking Omega-3 supplements. This is needed to maintain that beautiful skin and not worry about how to protect your skin during harmattan.

Wear Warm Clothes
This is not the season to leave your skin just like that. Ensure to put on thick clothes that will keep you warm.
