Hoodlums Set Iseyin Police Station On Fire, Residents Call On Governor Makinde For Help

Like they are doing in Lagos and other States across the nation, hoodlums have reportedly set Iseyin Police Station, Oyo Road in Oyo State on fire, while looting shops and carting away with many other things in the area.
The hoodlums were said to have invaded Iseyin Police station about 2 hours ago, alongside the Customs base and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) office in the town.The hoodlums were said to be bearing different arms and weapons and began attacking at about 9am and then proceeded to the Police Station, defying the earlier directives of the community’s traditional council prohibiting the protest, destroying the building before setting it ablaze.

Motorcycles, Keke Napep and other items including guns were carted away as the security operatives fled the station amid mounting tension. Shops, stores and other properties belonging to the government were also looted and destroyed, leaving residents in panic as they scampered for safety.Photos Credit: Getty
