From The Nineties: Vintage Hollywood Movies We All Fell In Love With

Being the most recognised global movie industry, Hollywood is among the best you can ever come across when it comes to mind blowing blockbusters. It would be impossible to talk about movies that reigned in the nineties without mentioning some of the big Hollywood movies. With that in mind, we have come up with a list of the top five hollywood movies that reigned in the 90s that we all love:
Titanic (1997):
Titanic is an American epic romance-disaster. This was a fictionalized account of the sinking of the RMS Titanic starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet as members of different social classes who fall in love aboard the ship during its ill-fated maiden voyage. ‘Titanic’ is a modern classic and a beautifully spectacular film that didn’t only impressed us but also left a remarkable impression in the Hollywood industry.

The Matrix (1999):
The Matrix is a science fiction action film that depicts a dystopian future in which reality as perceived by most humans is actually a simulated reality called “the Matrix”, created by sentient machines to subdue the human population, while their bodies’ heat and electrical activity are used as an energy source. Computer programmer “Neo” learns this truth and is drawn into a rebellion against the machines, which involves other people who have been freed from the “dream world.”

Braveheart (1995):
Braveheart is an American epic war film directed by and starring Mel Gibson. Gibson portrays William Wallace, a late 13th-century Scottish warrior who led the Scots in the First War of Scottish Independence against King Edward I of England. The film was nominated for ten Academy Awards at the 68th Academy Awards and won five: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Makeup, and Best Sound Editing.

The Mummy (1999):
The Mummy is a rousing, suspenseful and horrifying epic about an expedition of treasure-seeking explorers in the Sahara Desert in 1925. Stumbling upon an ancient tomb, the hunters unwittingly set loose a 3,000-year-old legacy of terror, which is embodied in the vengeful reincarnation of an Egyptian priest who had been sentenced to an eternity as one of the living dead.

Pretty Woman (1990):
This is a romantic comedy about a prostitute and a wealthy businessman that end up falling in love with each-other. While on a business trip in L.A., Edward (Richard Gere), who makes a living buying and breaking up companies, picks up a hooker, Vivian (Julia Roberts), on a lark. After Edward hires Vivian to stay with him for the weekend, the two get closer, only to discover there are significant hurdles to overcome as they try to bridge the gap between their very different worlds.
