The Head of Ghana Statistical Service (GSS), Professor Samuel Kobina Annim suffers a stroke crisis live on TV while giving a public speech. professor Annim would have slumped if not for people around who rushed to his rescue and help him maintain his balance.
The incident occurred while he was addressing the public during the ongoing Population and Housing Census exercise which commenced on the 13th June 2021.

In the video that surfaced and has now gone viral, Professor Annim went speechless and later began to stammer, with his speech becoming distorted while speaking to the audience. Though he was swiftly attended to by some people at the event and was later rushed to the hospital, and has been stabilized but his current condition or state of his health is yet unknown but he is believed to have survived the episode and being monitored.

Professor Samuel Kobina Annim was appointed as the Ghanaian Government’s Statistician in 2019 resuming office on March 1st, 2019.
