Gunner! Mesut Ozil Caught Giving His Arsenal Shirt To Manchester City Star At Half-time of Etihad Thumping

German international star Mesut Ozil has risked the ire of Arsenal fans after giving his shirt to Manchester City’s Leroy Sane at half-time of the Gunners’ miserable 3-1 defeat at the Etihad on Sunday. The German was named on the bench for the trip to Manchester, where a hat-trick from Sergio Aguero saw Unai Emery’s side slip to sixth in the Premier League table. Ozil was an unused substitute in the match, having fallen out of favour under Emery, while the Spanish boss opted to bring on Aaron Ramsey and Denis Suarez ahead of the German. With little need for his shirt, Ozil decided to give it to countryman Sane at half-time, with the City winger also benched for the match. The pair were seen deep in conversation as they headed to their respective dressing rooms at the break, laughing and joking, and Ozil gave his former German teammate a parting gift.He had to ask the kit man for a new shirt ahead of the second half, though it wasn’t needed as Emery opted not to call upon his most creative – and highest-paid – player despite requiring two goals. Ozil has only played in one of Arsenal’s last six Premier League matches since being taken off at half-time of the 1-1 draw with Brighton on Boxing Day.Photo Credit: Getty
