The mayor of Koutougou commune in Burkina Faso Hamidou Koundaba, has been murdered. The mayor according to reports was shot and killed on Sunday with the attackers fleeing the scene immediately they carried out their mission. 
Rach Kabore, president of Burkina Faso has since reacted to the sad news, condemning the “cowardly and despicable” act and offering his condolences to the family of the deceased. Photo Credit: Getty
