Some gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have killed a middle-aged man and abducted several others in separate locations in Enugu State.
The incident, KOKO TV NG reliably gathered, happened on Saturday evening.
While the killing happened in the Uzo Uwani Local government area, the abduction of motorists took place along the notorious Enugu-Ugwogo-Opi-Nsukka road.
According to sources, the middle-aged man killed has been identified as Sunday Nwa Ugwuja and was killed along Edem-Nrobo-Ezikolo-Abbi Road in Uzo-Uwani Council.

Sunday, who hailed from Apapam village, Ezikolo Abbi community, was going to Nsukka on Saturday evening when the assailants ambushed a car he was travelling on and killed him.
The gunmen were said to have severally shot at their vehicle to stop, but they managed to continue driving as the gunmen continued firing bullets at their vehicle.
While they drove to safety, sympathisers were said to have rushed Sunday to Bishop Shanaham Hospital, Nsukka, where he was confirmed dead due to loss of lots of blood.
Meanwhile, along the notorious and most fearful Enugu- Ugwuogo Nike-Nsukka Road, a gang of kidnappers were said to have successfully blocked the road and abducted about eight motorists including students.
Obiora Omeye, an undergraduate from Eha-Alumona community in Nsukka Local Government Area of the state is one of the victims of newest abduction that have become a daily occurrence.
According to reports, Omeye and others were reportedly going to Nsukka from Enugu on Saturday evening before they were abducted.

KOKO TV NG had reported that Enugu-Ugwogo-Opi-Nsukka road has become a nightmare to road users. Since 2021 kidnappers have been having field day on the stretch of road that is less than 5km with no fewer than 14 security checkpoints including military checkpoints.
Meanwhile, the Enugu State Police Command has denied knowledge of the incidents.
The Command’s spokesperson, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, who spoke to journalists on Sunday, claimed “there was no such situation known or reported to Command at the moment.
However, while we make frantic efforts to verify the veracity of the information, we urge person(s) with information on the exact location, time and mode of occurrence of the alleged incident, to avail us with same for necessary police actions.
“Meanwhile, the Command remains undeterred in her quest to flush out unrepentant violent criminals in every part of the State, please”.
