Guber Poll: Gov Abiodun Loses LGA To PDP In Ogun State

The incumbent Governor and governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dapo Abiodun has lost his Local Government Area in Ikenne to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Ladi Adebutu.

Adebutu who also hails from Governor Abiodun’s LGA polled 12,472 votes to defeat the governor who scored 9,133 votes.

Also at PU 14, Egunrege in Ikenne township where Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo voted, Adebutu emerged victorious.

PDP scored 42, APC had 21 votes, while ADC had one vote.

Recall at the governor’s polling unit, Abiodun scored highest with 147 votes ahead of Adebutu who garnered 142 votes.

The chairman of the party, Senator Adamu Abdullahi equally lost his polling unit, in Nassarawa state.

It was reported that in his GRA (A1) Polling Unit 010, in Keffi, the headquarters of Keffi Local Government Area, the PDP got 159 votes, while APC polled 129 as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission’s presiding officer, Okoh Everest.

The result also showed that the Social Democratic Party got one vote, while the Labour Party, got zero. However, recall that two days to the February 18 election, LP had collapsed its structure into the PDP for the governorship and State House of Assembly poll.
