1. As the past week was coming to a close, the hashtag #SecureIkoyi was one of the top trending thing in Nigeria as residents of the Lagos’ richest hub Banana Island and Parkview called on the Lagos State Government to save them from the many miscreants hovering over the gates of their estates. 2. The weekend started off with some sad news as 3 of the students kidnapped from Greenfield University, Kaduna were found dead in a village close to the school campus. It was a hard one, most especially for their families, some of who found out about their death on social media. The Giant of Africa again lost 3 of its future to the cold hands of banditry and insecurity.
3. In light of this, the Presidency vowed to combat insecurity and banditry specifically with all of the resources it has available. President Buhari had described the shot-dead students as described the students as bright youngsters who were cut down by evil people in their prime. He also described the tenor of some political and religious leaders that seem to further incite and stoke the pain and anguish of mourning families who are forced to confront these atrocities as unfortunate.

10. On Sunday night, the biggest award in Hollywood went down at the L.A.’s Union Station but more virtually.
