Following the attack on his convoy by gunmen who are believed to be members of the terror group Boko Haram, Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum delivered food aide to about 80,000 IDPs in the State.
Zulum was on Wednesday attacked at Baga in the northern part of the troubled state, after he left the State capital, Maiduguri on Monday to an undisclosed destination in the state.
This, according to report, has become his tradition to personally distribute palliatives to internally displaced persons (IDPs) in liberated local government areas. This was his mission when the convoy ran into an ambush on Baga road. Read also: Eid-el-Kabir: 2 Killed, 16 Injured As Boko Haram Terrorists Attack Borno
Despite this, however, Governor Zulum ensured he delivered the food aide to the displaced persons. Pictures of the Governor sitting and chatting with some of the women surfaced online, as well as those of the IDPs carting away with the food items.
