Governor Wike Fulfils N10m Pledge To Artiste That Performed At Burna Boy’s Homecoming Concert

Governor Wike of Rivers state has fulfilled the promise he made to every artiste who performed at the homecoming concert for singer Burna Boy. Last weekend a homecoming concert was organized by the state government for the singer to honour him following his Grammy win.

Governor Wike during the homecoming concert promised to give every artiste who performed at the show the sum of N10 million each and he has redeemed the promise. A statement released by the state’s Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Tonye Briggs-Oniyide, revealed that the Governor has fulfilled his promise.

“The Rivers State Government has made good its promise to give Ten million naira to each of the performing artists who participated in the Burna Boy Home Coming State Reception concert in Port Harcourt last Saturday. The payment has been carried out in strict adherence to the pronouncement of the Governor.

The accounts of the beneficiaries have been credited as directed by the Governor, and as you know the Governor is a man of his word and he has redeemed his pledge,” One of the artistes who performed at the event Kessydriz also verified the statement as she burst into tears when she received the alert from the state government. In a post she shared on Instagram, the singer said that her years of tears, depression, and struggle have come to an end.
