Governor Rochas Erects Giant Statue Of Jacob Zuma In Owerri

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State on Saturday, unveiled a giant statue of South African President Jacob Zuma in Owerri, Imo State in honour of the visiting President.The governor unveiled the statue in the presence of the South African president and other dignitaries at a ceremony in honour of Zuma.The South African president has been in Owerri since Friday is facing a running battle in his country over allegations of corruption and abuse of office.Zuma had been conferred with a chieftaincy title “Ochiagha Imo” by Eze Imo, HRH Samuel Ohiri, on Saturday.Governor Okorocha had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Zuma Foundation and Okorocha’s Rochas Okorocha Foundation, and also had a road – Jacob Zuma Road – named after the President.This also comes at a time when over 5 Nigerians have been reportedly killed by South Africa’s police.
