Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has revealed that he stays in a three bedroom apartment in Aba, commercial capital of the state, rather than in the Government House in Umuahia, the State capital.
On becoming the Governor, Minister or President, individuals are expected to vacate their own homes and move into the official residences provided for the position. Governor Ikpeazu, however, in a chat with journalists on Monday, revealed that he did not follow this tradition and why.According to him, he chose to live among his people because he wanted to imagine life outside power. Stating that he won’t take himself too far away from how he lived his life before becoming the Governor, Ikpeazu added that he chose to stay in a 3-bedroom apartment in Aba because he wants to keep his eyes on the fact that he won’t be the Governor forever.
Adding that power is a serious matter that God would not leave entirely in the hands of men, he said, “I live in a three bedroom apartment here in Aba. I stay here because I want to keep my eyes on the fact that I’m the governor today, but I will not be the governor tomorrow. I won’t take myself too far away from how I live my life. I will work hard to the point that somebody coming after me will find it difficult to operate unless he is running on this same lane”.TRENDING VIDEO OF THE DAY: I Will Like To See Bobrisky Naked – Cossy Orjiakor
