Governor Fayose Owes Workers 8 Months Salaries, Not 4 Months – Ekiti State NLC Chairman

Governor Ayo Fayose who recently declared his intention to run for the presidency in the 2019 elections and who whilst speaking with media in Lagos said he only owed workers in Ekiti just four months’ salaries, has been called out for giving inaccurate information on the salaries owed.The Ekiti State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress in Ekiti State, Ade Adesanmi, reacting to the claim said different categories of workers in Ekiti were owed between five and eight months’ salaries. He noted that ‘As we speak, the civil servants are owed five months’ salary arrears; local government, eight months’ salaries; and institutions like College of Education, Ikere, College of Heath Technology, Ijero and Ekiti State Universities are owed Seven months’ salaries.’Photo Credit: Getty
