Gov Nyesome Wike of Rivers state has ordered a compulsory COVID-19 test for all workers in the state has they make plans to return to work in the coming weeks. The governor revealed this in a signed statement by Paulinus Nsirim, the commissioner for information and communications.
The governor Nyesome Wike said the order was given as a precautionary measure to curb the spread of the virus in thestate and explained that the virus will be defeated in the state with the cooperation of the people. “Nobody knows who you have shaken hands with. I’m sure, in Rivers state, we have lost not less than 38 lives on the record. I have given a directive that all staff of Government House must go for testing. Nobody knows who is a carrier and we must save everybody as much as we can.”
