The National Examinations Council NECO has come out to debunk reports that its Late registrar and Chief Executive Officer Professor Godswill Obioma, was killed by some unknown gunmen but rather he died in his sleep after suffering a heart attack and suffering a brief illness.
The stories that first hit the airwaves and the first media reports were that Prof. Obioma was strangled to death at his home in Minna, Niger State capital. This report had gone viral leading to a lot of Nigerians coming out to slam the federal government of Nigeria over the insecurity situation of the country further declining amidst the incessant killings of high profile personalities in the country.

However, a statement released by the board this morning said family sources disclosed that the NECO boss died after a brief illness.  See the statement below;
