Give Me Back My Money! Woman Who Posted R Kelly’s $100,000 Bond Wants It Returned

R Kelly appeared in court today in an orange jumpsuit as his ‘good friend’ who posted his $100,000 (£80,000) bond back in February asked a judge for it back.

Kelly is a mess - managerValencia Love put up the 10% payment of Kelly’s initial $1million (£800,000) bond earlier this year after he was indicted in the Cook County case. However after requesting the money be returned, now the singer is being held without bail, she had her question denied by Judge Lawrence Flood in Chicago on Tuesday.

Judge Flood said Love signed a bond slip, warning her she may lose the money, even if Kelly were to meet his bond conditions, should the funds be used to pay fees, fines or court costs, for instance. Prosecutors also made a move during the hearing to boost the singer’s bond, which sat at $1million, which was denied by Flood – after Kelly had been denied bond on federal charges.

His appearance this week comes after a warrant was issued for Kelly’s arrest, after he failed to turn up to court in Minnesota. The Ignition singer was due to appear at a hearing on Thursday 12 September, after he was charged with two counts of soliciting prostitution from someone under the age of 18.

However, Kelly – real name Robert Kelly – was a no-show in court, as he is currently incarcerated at a prison in Chicago, facing charges including child porn and obstruction of justice.
