Ganduje Fires Commissioner For Unguarded Utterances Against Abba Kyari

Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State has ordered the immediate termination of the appointment of the Commissioner of Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Mu’azu Magaji, following his utterances after Abba Kyari’s death.
Mu’azu Magaji had taken to Facebook to pay tribute to the CoS who lost his life while combatting COVID-19, noting however, that his death will pave way for President Buhari to run his administration by himself. He added further that the President needs to find a better replacement for Abba Kyari’s whose office, according to him, is not active.

In a statement released and signed by the Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, the Commissioner’s renditions are regarded as unguarded utterances against the person of the late Chief of Staff. Ganduje noted that a public servant, especially a commissioner ought to have respect for the office by refraining from any act capable of rendering it to disrepute.

The action of a public servant, personal or otherwise reflects back on the government and therefore, the Ganduje administration would not tolerate people in official capacities engaging in personal vendetta or otherwise“, part of the statement reads.
