Fuel Tanker Explodes In Ondo State Killing Many

A loaded fuel tanker explodes in Ondo State as many have feared dead

About a dozen lives have been lost in the fresh tanker explosion that occurred at the Shagari Village junction along the Ilesa/ Owo Federal Highway. The tanker was said to have been on its way from Lagos when it lost control and almost immediately went up in flames. The explosion occurred not too far from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) mega filling station in Akure. According to eye witnesses, vehicles were burnt in the explosion and over six people have also been feared dead. In an exclusive report by one eye-witness, it was confirmed that it took hours for the fire department to intervene.
