Former Kaduna State Governor, Muktar Muhammed Is Dead

Former Kaduna state military governor Muktar Muhammed died Sunday in a London hospital after a protracted illness. The nonagenarian served as the minister of housing, urban and development under the regime of General Murtala Mohammed. He also served as a military governor of Kaduna state from 1977 – 1979 under the combined regimes of General Murtala Mohammed and General Olusegun Obasanjo.
A close relative Lawal Musa disclosed that his remains will soon arrive Nigeria for burial. Before his death, Muktar Muhammed was appointed as the chairman of the governing council of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He survived by his wives, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His burial is expected to hold in Kaduna State.
