Flying Eagles Get New Captain Ahead Of Afcon 2023

Flying Eagles head Coach, Ladan Bosso has appointed Daniel Bamaiyi as the new captain of the Nigeria U20 team ahead of the game against Junior Chipolopolo of Zambia this evening.

The YumYum FC defender is expected to charge the Flying Eagles to victory as they rumble their Zambian counterparts.  The match scheduled to be played by 4pm today at the Main Bowl of the Moshood Abiola Stadium promises to be a fierce encounter, with both team gearing up for the Africa U20 Cup of Nations.  The Flying Eagles coach mentioned that Bamaiyi’s appointment is in a bid to put his team in shape ahead of the AFCON U20 tournament in Egypt.

Bamaiyi will be assisted by Dakkada FC midfielder, Daniel Daga and Giant Brillars FC goalkeeper, Chijioke Aniagboso who will serve as first and second assistants respectively.

Bamaiyi replace Oluwatosin Adegbite, who led the Flying Eagles to glory at the U20 Wafu B tournament in Niger Republic. Adegbite was ruled out of the AFCON U20 tournament due to injury he sustained while training with club Enyimba International FC.

Pressure mounts on the Flying Eagles as they will be playing at home against the Zambia team who won the 2017 Africa U20 Cup of Nations.
