Flood: Building Partially Collapses In Agege, Lagos

As Lagos experienced two days of constant rainfall, its effects are gradually unfolding as a building partially collapsed in Papa Ashafa, Orile Agege area of the state.
This was confirmed and reported by Lagos State Emergency Management Agency LASEMA in a series of tweets via its official Twitter handle.Flood: Building Partially Collapses In Agege, Lagos
According to LASEMA, upon arrival at the location 12 Hassan Adejobi Street, Papa Ashafa, Orile Agege, it was observed that a fence fell on a bungalow boy’s quarters with 6 rooms which is located in the same compound with a 10 rooms bungalow. The latter was submerged by water as result of flood at about 6:00am on Thursday 18th June, 2020, causing the accident.

It was further revealed to the Agency’s officials at the incident scene that 2 victims (an adult female and her female child) living in the affected building (boy’s quarters) sustained minor injuries and were taken to an unknown hospital before the arrival of the Agency’s LRT. It was further observed that 3 other compound were also affected by the flood. Presently about 20 families have been displaced by the flood“.
