One of the outstanding graduates from the University of Lagos, Joy Omowunmi has come out to reveal how she managed to bag a first-class even with her health condition of being a sickle cell.

In an exclusive interview with KOKO TV, Joy Omowunmi stated that the numerous crisis she has faced over time as a result of being a sickle cell made her strong-willed and determined to be a strong person no matter what.

She narrated how she grew up having to change schools a lot because of her numerous hospital trips and not wanting to repeat a class. Joy caught the attention of everyone when she revealed how she entered Unilag with four legs but finished with her two legs.

When asked if she has been strong-willed or she grew into being strong-willed? She said it’s something I grew into becoming because sickle cell is like an unpredictable illness sometimes you could be fine and sometimes you could be feeling the worst pain of your life, it just comes suddenly. I feel like I just had to make up my mind to be a strong person to always expect, sometimes I just expect the worst and if I make plans for an event or something, I just expect that I’ll probably fall sick before this time, I try to take precautions. So I just feel like it built me into being strong-willed and expecting worst case scenarios to happen. Watch the interview below;
