Fireboy Reveals How He Became The Family Black Sheep For Wanting To Do Music

Singer Fireboy in a recent interview has opened up on how he was branded the family black sheep when he made the decision to do music. He explained that things went south between him and his parents when he told them he was ditching his previous plans for music.

FireboyFireboy added that his parents, particularly his mother, were not in support of his career choice because he chose a secular music genre as he comes from a very religious background.  “My mother was forcing Yinka Ayefele, Tope Alabi songs down my throat. I was not the black sheep in the family until l told my parents l was going for music.

“My parents weren’t supportive at first because it was a switch. It was a very big switch from a promising child that seemed destined to be a professor to someone who suddenly woke up to wanting to be a musician. “It took sometimes for them to get used to that. Their reaction was because l gave them hope that l was going to be a scholar and then the sudden switch.”
