A gas plant at Baruwa, Ipaja in Alimosho Local Government, Lagos had caught fire in the early hours of today, leading to an inferno in the area.
This is coming about two weeks after a similar explosion in Iju-Ishaga area of Lagos left 40 people injured and buildings destroyed, and 2 days after another building was gutted in Gbagada.According to eye witnesses who took to the streets of Twitter to share pictures and videos, the fire from the explosion could not be put out before it extended to buildings around. Further update from the microblogging site revealed that 4 people have lost their live and over buildings have been razed down while the Lagos Fire Department are intensifying efforts to put out the fire.
