Find Ways, Tactics And Style To Solve Nigeria’s Security Challenges – Buhari To Service Chiefs

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has called on service chiefs to find methods to deal with the country’s security challenges.

This directive was issued on Tuesday by President Buhari after meeting with the service chiefs at the presidential villa, Abuja.

Be Usman Alkali Baba, inspector-general of police (IGP); Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the federation (AGF); Rauf Aregbesola, interior minister, and Geoffery Onyeama, foreign affairs minister, were also in attendance.

Speaking after the meeting, Bashir Magashi, defence minister, said the president called for urgent steps towards securing the country.

The minister said the security situation in Zamfara state and the north-central was the main agenda of the meeting.

Ex-Service Chiefs“Security, as far as this country is concerned, is the paramount important thing in this country, without security, nothing will happen and the commander-in-chief has emphasised this today that without security, nothing can go,” he said.

“So, he has directed us to find ways, tactics and style with which we can get out of this and we assured him that we’ll do our best to ensure the mission is successful and we’ll do all we can to ensure the completion of this mission, especially when equipment and other things are available to support the course of our tactical manoeuvres and that we’ll do very well from now.”

Magashi said another batch of six A-29 Super Tucano fighter jets will arrive in the country next week, while the six that have already been inducted by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) are being tested.Buhari
